Ruby Meadowhawk Dragonfly

by Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D. on August 18, 2010

I went on a fishing trip with my Dad recently.  It was hot and the fish were not biting well.  I got my camera out and took a picture of this dragonfly.  I could not move the boat to get terribly close, but I believe the species is a Ruby Meadowhawk Dragonfly female (Sympetrum rubicundulum).
