Pythian Knight in Weatherford, Texas

by Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D. on December 29, 2011

If you are driving around the square in Weatherford, Texas, you will see an odd sight.  There is a building that has the battlements around the top of it, and a suit of armor in a niche in the wall.  This is the meeting place of the local Knights of Pythias, a fraternal organization.  It does look a little out of place, however.

Hi, I ended up here through the Blogathon (noticed you had several blogs). This caught my eye because my Dad (who would have been 98 in July had he still been alive) was a member of the Knights of Phythias in the Bronx (New York City.) I never knew where his meetings were held but I somehow doubt it looked like this. I would love to post this picture on Pinterest, with your permission. I would give you proper credit. If not, no problem.
