Promised Tulip pictures

by Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D. on April 4, 2011

Despite the fact that I tend to find wildlife, including bugs, far more interesting than pretty flower, I did take some pictures of the tulips at the Dallas Arboretum during the Dallas Blooms event.  They had tulips with vibrant colors and ones with pastels.  I took this photograph of some really, really orange tulips. I thought the vibrant colors were more successful than the pastel ones, which washed out in comparison.

Hi Stephanie

I always enjoy your photographs and this is no exception. When I lived and worked in the UK I managed a trip to Holland and that was where I saw masses of tulips in all shades growing everywhere.

We have a place up in the hills that has a tulip display every year. That is the only place I have seen them grow here. And when they are in full bloom they make a magnificent show.

Thank you for the compliments. I would think it would be hard to grow tulips there as water is at such a premium.

It seems that the small bulbs are glowing at center. Very beautiful look of tulips
