Annoyed Swan

by Stephanie Suesan Smith, Ph.D. on May 10, 2011

Some how swans on land never look as graceful as they do on the water.  This one is known to be rather grumpy, even before the guide’s dog disturbed his rest.  The dog had too much sense to get within reach of that beak, but he still roused the swan.  Even sitting again, the swan manages to look put out instead of regal.

Swans bring me a sense of calmness and elegance. The first photo looks pixelated (unsure if you intended it that way) however, the 2nd photo is beautiful.

She (or he) looks so peaceful. I’ve never seen a swan in real life. Just in porcelain form 🙂 Do you think this picture captured the size and beauty of it?

Swans are big, powerful birds. They are not peaceful but rather aggressive. This one was some distance away because getting any closer would invite attack. They are pretty, though.
